HISTORY
MIFED was first launched in 1960 and originally had two yearly editions: one in
April for television products and one in October for cinematographic products.
In the mid eighties, the April edition was cancelled and the whole of MIFED was
gathered in the autumn edition.
MIFED IN THE WORLD
MIFED has been considered the world's first audiovisual market.
It's now ranked among the three most important international markets, with the
American Film Market and the "Marché du Film de Cannes".
MIFED participants come from more than 70 countries: 80% of the clientele comes
from abroad. The European Union, through the MEDIA PROGRAM, has found in MIFED
the right vehicle to promote the European audiovisual industry.
MIFED keeps constant contacts with the main international organizations in the
industry as well as with the foreign Markets and Festivals, thus fostering and
promoting international business exchanges.
