Management Team

Archangel features a top rate management team that has a strong-business focus and experience in managing businesses.  The team members have each been successful in their past endeavors, from academics to business.  They are as follows:

Dr. William Russell, Production and Operations

William S. Russell spent his last year at Archangel Films leading the business development, operations and financing.  He has successfully raised the capital to fund Archangel Films’ first feature length film entitled “Robbery 101: A Common Man’s Guide to Armed Robbery” on which he is the producer.

Dr. Russell spent over 2 years as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he gained experience in business strategy, organization and operations.

Dr. Russell’s experience includes generating and evaluating strategic options for Fortune 100 clients and developing and implementing business-building strategies for start-up companies. This work involved building and refining business models, assessing market and competitive landscapes, developing rigorous financial models and writing business plans.

Dr. Russell’s organization and operations experience focused on budget management and cost-reduction strategies: managing and designing systems tight control over budgets.

Dr. Russell spent 8 years as an academic on the faculty of Columbia University in New York and the University of California, Berkeley.  He is trained as a rocket scientist. 

Dr. Russell is also a former international athlete having played for, and coached the USA National Rugby Team where he led and managed high-performing teams for several years.

Dr. Russell holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia and a B.Sc. (with Honors) in Mathematics from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.

 

Rafael Gomez-Cabrera, Esq., Development and Production

Rafael Gomez-Cabrera spent the last year at Archangel Films writing and polishing four screenplays (detailed on this website), sharpening the company’s strategy and spearheading the creative team on “Robbery 101” on which he is the writer/director.

Mr. Gomez-Cabrera is a Harvard trained attorney with experience in management consulting and in managing small businesses. 

Mr. Gomez-Cabrera was a Director of Business Development/Director of European Marketing for DVT Corporation, a high-tech company, where he was responsible for the company’s businesses and marketing activities throughout Europe.  His responsibilities included writing, producing, and editing corporate videos.

Mr. Gomez-Cabrera spent 3 years as a consultant at McKinsey & Company where he assisted Fortune 100 companies in creating short- and long-term business strategies.  There he gained experience in conducting market research, and in setting growth strategies for companies.  He also worked on several corporate films produced by McKinsey.

Mr. Gomez-Cabrera was also an attorney for Baker & McKenzie, Attorneys-at-Law, in Chicago where he gained experience in contract law and in negotiating acquisition and financing agreements.      

Mr. Gomez-Cabrera holds a Juris Doctoris (with Honors) from Harvard Law School and an A.B. in Finance and Economics (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Illinois – Urbana/Champaign.  He also studied economics at the University of London-UCL.

Mr. Gomez-Cabrera is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois.

 

Advisory Counsel

Archangel plans to hire attorneys with expertise in the entertainment industry to help manage the legal reviews and assist in negotiations and to hire accountants in the Miami area to assist in the maintenance of books.

 Archangel currently has the following experts as part of its advisory board.
